According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one out of three older adults fall each year in the United States and one out of five falls leads to a serious injury like broken bones or head trauma.1

Falls among older adults in Missouri are even more common than national fall rates.2

Although the risk of falling increases with age, falls are not inevitable and there are simple steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of falling.
