AAAs were established under the Federal Older Americans Act in 1973 to help older adults (60 and older) remain in their home. AAAs are are part of a nationwide network driven by local needs, helping older adults plan and find additional care, services, or programs. Help ranges from providing services for a frail adult to reman at home, to providing health, wellness, and social activities through senior centers and virtual programming. AAAs also provide support and services to the family or friends helping to care for older adults.
