Small Action, Big Impact! You can ensure seniors receive nutrition and wellness checks by simply “checking the box” on your Missouri income tax return.

Thousands of Missouri seniors are homebound and struggle to access regular, nutritious meals. The Elderly Home Delivered Meals Trust Fund provides the funding local agencies need to deliver hot food and essential wellness checks directly to their doors.

How It Works: When you file your Missouri State Income Tax Return (MO-1040), you can choose to donate a portion of your refund to this fund.

  • It’s Easy: Just one line on your tax form.
  • It’s Local: 100% of these funds stay in Missouri to support our local Area Agencies on Aging.
  • It’s Impactful: Even a $5 donation can help cover the cost of a meal and a friendly visit for a senior in need.

How to Find It:

On Software (TurboTax/H&R Block): When you reach the “Missouri State Wrap-Up” or “Donations” section, look for “Elderly Home Delivered Meals.”

On Paper: Look for Line 51 (on the 2025/2026 MO-1040) under the “Trust Funds” section.

The Elderly Home Delivered Meals Trust Fund provides critical funding for meals delivered to homebound seniors across Missouri. For many of our elderly residents, these deliveries are much more than a source of nutrition; they are a vital wellness check and often the only social interaction they have all day. Please: “Check the Box”!
