Healthcare Professionals

Healthcare professionals can take an active role in preventing falls by screening patients for falls and fall risk, evaluating a patient’s gait, strength and balance, educating patients about their risk and about prevention strategies, and by providing referrals to community classes or to another health provider, like a physical or occupational therapist, who can work with the patient to help reduce their risk of falls.
