Summit On Aging & Health: Day 1

The 14th Annual Summit on Aging & Health has officially convened in Columbia, MO, and the array of information being presented is impressive. The day began with breakout sesssions dealing with topics ranging from nursing home care and financial exploitation to emergency services and pharmacy insights.

The main session was marked by a somber remembrance of the events of 9/11 sixteen years ago today and a moment of silence. Particpants were welcomed to the Summit by MA4 President Diana Hoeman. The day’s keynote address was delivered by Sandy Markwood, CEO of the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging. Her topic was : “Challenges Facing the Aging Network”, and at this point in history, that topic could not have been more timely.

Day 2 will feature special educational sessions on a broad array of topics and a vendor exhibition that will be open to the public at no charge.

Here are a few pictures from Day 1.
