National Tax Plan Will Increase Tax On Medium Wage Earners Over Time

Although no final version of a national tax reform bill has been approved, or even fully publicly disclosed, preliminary evaluations of aspects of the proposal indicate that short-term tax cuts could be rescinded in future years and result in higher taxes on people earning less than $75,000 per year.

According to the Missouri Budget Project, three separate, independent, nonpartisan analyses
examined the impact of the bill over time and each found similar results. By 2027 Missourians will pay
more overall in federal taxes, at the same time the federal deficit will increase.
