Mid-East AAA And SHL Kick Off Voter Education Project

The Mid-East AAA , in conjunction with the MEAAA Silver Haired Legislators (SHL) are excited to pilot a plan to provide Voter Registration and Absentee Voting information to interested participants. This project places special emphasis on those who face challenges voting at regular polling locations, specifically, those receiving home delivered meals.

The project includes the distribution of specially designed “Your Vote Counts” flyers along with home delivered meals. The flyer allows homebound residents to request voter information from AAA workers when they return with subsequent meal delivery.

The project will take place between September 6 and 13, and any information requested by the at-home seniors will be mailed directly to the person requesting the information. An optional conference call has been scheduled for MEAAA staff to answer  questions regarding the project.  This will be held on Wednesday, Sept 7th at 2:00pm.

If you’d like to participate, please call 1-888-537-7715 and enter this passcode 65520357#

We also want to thank the St Louis and St Charles County SCAs for scheduling presentations on the important ballot issue, Proposition S (Seniors Count), to be held at all of your centers!
