MO Silver Haired Legislature Advocacy Day – March 6
The Missouri Silver Haired Legislature will hold its Annual Advocacy Day March 6, 2010 at the State Capitol in Jefferson City in the House Hearing Room.
Board Members and delegates from each of the ten Area Agencies on Aging throughout the State of Missouri have been invited to attend this meeting which will commence the day’s activities at 9:30 A.M. Both the Governor and Lt. Governor will address the group as well as other elected officials.
The 2012 priorities of the Missouri Silver Haired Legislature are:
- Increase & Restore Funding for the Area Agency on Aging Meal Programs
- Establish a Silver Alert System for Endangered Adults
- Raise Asset Level for Persons on MO Healthnet to $2,000 for a Single Person and $3,000 for a Married Couple
- Stronger Regulations on Pay Day Loan Companies
- Require Criminal Background Checks for Long-Term Care Workers.
