Not many legislators are discussing it during this year’s hotly contested elections, but key senior programs could face automatic cuts unless Congress acts immediately after the November 6 elections. Estimates indicate that if sequestration goes into effect services provided under the Older Americans Act could expect cuts of 8.4% and 17 million older adults could no longer receive home-delivered meals.
